Christina Sandrock was born in Freiburg in Breisgau (Germany) in 1977. She developed her interest in photography relatively late.
At the age of 22 she obtained her first camera. Many trips, mainly through Asia, trained her eye and the camera became her permanent companion.

After high school Christina applied to study in photography at Lette Verein Berlin and graduated in 2004. Later she worked as a freelance photography assistant for various photographers, including Frank P. Wartenberg, and was able to strengthen her professional know how and technique.

Beside other genres of photography she shifted the focus of her work to the theme of water, marine lifestyle and the underwater world. The underwater photography has been a complete success for the passionate sports diver Christina Sandrock. Diving with manta rays and her camera was the magical moment when she was truly hooked to it.
Her photographs are staged and they impress the beholder with unusual
perspectives, and surrealism that defies gravity.
